The brazen attack took place around 11 a.m., Thursday, July 8, on Jewett Avenue in Bridgeport.
A man who had been seen in the area forced the woman into her home at gunpoint and demanded she lie down on the floor, said Scott Appleby, the City of Bridgeport's director of Emergency Management.
When her children walked in, he fled on foot. According to the victim, the suspect frequents that area, and for the last two days, has been seen walking on Ruth Street from Peet Street to Madison Avenue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
He is described as a Black male, possibly in his early 20s, with a thin build.
